The mission of the “A Gang Free Florida” initiative is to provide a statewide strategy for gang control by researching, developing and offering recommendations pertaining to intelligence, enforcement, prosecutorial, and legislative policy as well as the utilization of best practices relating to prevention, intervention and reentry programs to those who are either interested in or already involved in the gangs by focusing on providing potential or active gang members as well as their families with the necessary skills to discourage or detach themselves from the gang lifestyle.
By forming a joint union between all available resources, the “A Gang Free Florida” initiative will reduce the number of gang members and gang crimes within the State of Florida, which will ensure that our communities become safer.
